On De Scene: Date Change for Official Opening of St. Lucia Carnival

The Official Opening of Carnival has been moved from May 24th to now June 1st 2009. The reason surrounding the change has not been revealed nonetheless the opening is expected to be Grand. The event will coincide with the annual Lime Jam which will be a J'ouvert Jump Up from 5a.m. to 9a.m. in the streets of Castries. Later that day at 3p.m. the Mindoo Philip Park will be the home for the official opening ceremony which will have all bands costumes displayed and performances by local artists.

Though the opening may come off a bit late , artists and bands are not waiting for the opening to get their products out, and so far the season is heating up to be very intense!
